Well, we reached a milestone last week when Fried On Business aired its 250th show. Yep, I can’t believe it’s been 250 episodes, either, but it’s true.
The first show aired in mid-May 2009 when Jorge Guevara asked me to come into the studios at AM 880 The Biz and talk about the real estate market, which was terrible at the time.
We’ve been going strong ever since, and I owe a debt of gratitude to Jorge and to you, my loyal listeners. Without you, this would not be possible.
Many of you called on the air with congratulations, including:
– Larry Zinn, general manager of Warren Henry Infiniti, Jaguar, Volvo, and Fisker, a sponsor from day one.
– Jorge Guevara.
– Ron Book, father of Lauren Book. Lauren is a frequent guest who founded LaurensKids.org in an effort to stop child sexual abuse.
– John Crossman of Crossman & Company, a commercial real estate firm in Orlando.
– John Mahoney, founder of SocialMedia 305.
– Terek Maddox, founder of ESPA Training.
– Bruce Turkel, CEO/EDC of Turkel Brands.
Turkel recently came back from Asia, and he said the trip only reinforced his convictions about the importance of branding in business.
“You see people buying things there simply because it has a name, a logo, a brand, a message that you recognize – that means something to you,” he said.
And that message begins to mean something to you after a lot of repetition, he said. You have to repeat your message because:
– People generally don’t care. They’re concerned about their own lives.
– They only care about what you’re selling when they need it.
Repetition has certainly paid off for Fried On Business. After 250 episodes and lots of diligent marketing, I can’t go to any meeting or speaking engagement today without someone asking about the show.
Turkel said you, dear readers and listeners, have to figure out for yourself what marketing vehicles will be productive for your businesses and then, with discipline, use them repeatedly.
That’s what we’re going to keep doing here at Fried On Business as we press on toward Episode 500. Thanks, again, listeners and sponsors for making it possible.
And thanks, especially, to my beautiful wife Vivian for calling in to congratulate me. I could not do this without your support. You made my day complete!
