Advanced Breast Cancer Detection
Our UHealth guest is Dr. Monica Yepes, Assistant Professor of Radiology and Section Chief of Breast Imaging at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Yepes will discuss the most advanced technology in breast cancer detection, 3D mammography, which is now offered at Sylvester. The 3D mammogram, or Tomosynthesis, takes multiple thin x-rays throughout the breast, which may help detect cancer more easily by helping to differentiate normal breast tissue from abnormal findings.
Maintain Your Conditioning Like The Pros
Terek Maddox, B.S., exercise physiology, is an exercise science/strength and conditioning coach for his firm ESPA Training, Inc., in South Florida. After a stint with the New York Jets‘ strength and conditioning department, Terek returned to Miami to head his own sports-training company for professional athletes in the South Florida area.
He currently works with athletes in the NBA and NFL, in addition to high school and collegiate-level athletes training to get to the next level of their specific sport. Terek is a member of The National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification.
