Bernard Zyscovich, FAIA, is Managing Principal of Zyscovich Architects in Miami. He studied urban design and architecture at the Universita’ di Architettura in Venice, Italy, and New York’s Pratt Institute, where he received his Bachelor of Architecture degree.

Zyscovich founded his urban planning, architecture and urban design firm, Zyscovich Architects, in 1977 and quickly became an integral part of the South Florida community. The firm is celebrating its 40th anniversary “Making People Places” this year.

Today, the Miami-headquartered firm has offices in New York City, Winter Park, FL, and Bogotá, Colombia.

Jim and Bernard discuss placemaking in South Florida – making people places that enhance communities and lifestyles for all.

He is also a Research Associate of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians and the Colorado Cannabis Clinicians. When medical cannabis became legal, his extensive plant experience coupled with his educational background in Biochemistry, made Mr. Johnson a sought-after Subject Matter Expert for Cannabis in the U.S., Europe, and South America. Mr. Johnson and two of his partners had significant input into Florida’s original “Compassionate Marijuana Act of 2014.” Mr. Johnson has served as a Subject Matter Expert on essentially all updates to this legislation over the past eight-plus years.
