Hotel and Hospitality Update
Bo Ashbel is managing director at Aztec Group, Inc. Ashbel focuses solely on hospitality acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and debt and equity financing. He is both an investor and a transaction intermediary. His experience includes select and full-service hotels, convention-oriented resorts, as well as condominium hotels.
Ashbel’s 25 years of hospitality experience includes acquisitions and dispositions, debt, mezzanine, and equity financing, joint venture creation and capital restructuring, market research, economic impact analysis, financial analyses, appraisals and operational reviews for a variety of existing and proposed hotels, resorts and other leisure-oriented properties.
At Aztec, Ashbel has been involved as a principal in a number of hospitality related projects, gaining a keen understanding of operational and ownership related issues.
Ashbel graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel Administration. He is a former vice president of the Cornell Society of Hotelmen, a Tourism Committee member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and an active Florida Real Estate and Mortgage Broker.
Robert Finvarb is the founder of The Robert Finvarb Companies. He has been a real estate developer and investor since 2002 and has been a pioneer in developing mixed-use urban select service hotels in high barrier to entry markets throughout the United States. Over the past eleven years, he has led the development efforts for the 174-room Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Dania Beach, Florida, the 123-room Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in Chantilly (Dulles Airport South), Virginia, the 135-room Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in Tallahassee, Florida, the 133-room Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in Melbourne, Florida, the 208-room Residence Inn by Marriott – Desert View at Mayo Clinic and the 218-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Washington, D.C.
