Lately, we’ve been talking about what areas of Miami have the potential to become the next Brickell Avenue. So let’s turn our attention to Little River and Little Havana.
I don’t see Brickell-type development in the cards for Little River anytime soon. That area is growing. It has some great investors. It has great bones. But that area is going to take a while longer to turn around.
Really, the next area to watch is Little Havana. Redevelopment will start on the river and then work its way down the main thoroughfares, finally branching off into the wonderful residential areas.
The first round of development has already come. Mostly affordable, workforce housing. But there’s much more on the way.
Don’t fret about Little Havana losing its charm. There will be opportunities for everyone to live, work and play there. People will want the Little Havana lifestyle without the congestion and aggravation of Brickell Avenue.
Overall, the Downtown Miami urban core is changing – from a place to visit to a place to live – at lightning speed. It’s a beautiful area with technology, entrepreneurship and amenities.
We are the next great international city.
