One fan’s positives and negatives of opening night at Marlins ballpark.
Positives
The boat thing in the beginning of the ceremonies was great!
No Orioles – like uniforms – thank goodness!
Ali – absolutely the greatest of all time!
Tribute to our service personnel – needed to be done-very nice.
Sky line of Miami, beautiful sunset and moon rising were something I will never forget.
Blimp flying the American flag was very patriotic.
Military fly over amazing
I also love the wide open spaces of the field and how the marlins speedy team will take advantage of it.
Ozzie – Pepsi – he earns that money!
All the people working for the marlins were happy and positive.
They retained many of my old favorites on the event staff.
Marlins ballpark is pure eye candy.
The Home Run Feature is wild and very entertaining!
Rea Miami “Vibe” after game outside the stadium.
Traffic and parking not as bad as I feared.
Wonderful camaraderie among fans.
Left after top of 8th – got home in 10 minutes!
I feel like I got my money’s worth!!!
Negatives
Ali – I met him 25 years ago while he was still able to shuffle and mumble… this appearance was unfortunately pathetic. It made my friends and I feel awkward and uncomfortable. Was he there just so no one would boo the owner?
Tribute to our troops overseas-my friends and I felt like the team exploited the family-it made us all uncomfortable being there during their personal moments – the only thing missing was Rick Sanchez doing the interview.
Horrible placement of championship banners-although they do give a good indication that you’ll never hit a ball out to left field as long as the windows are open and the wind is blowing from the east which is 80% of the time
Seats not staggered – you cannot see around the person in front of you -you just have to explain this one to me. Everything seems so perfectly planned and this is so dumb.
Foodservice terrible!
Food terrible!
Restroom disgusting but no waiting!
The Home Run Feature only went off during the pre-game ceremony.
I saw one too many aggressive drunks in the parking garage. The team needs real police in the parking garages not just outside on the streets.
The team ran into a pitcher that shut them down.
At least the marlins got a run.
And the Heat won!!!
