On this week’s show we discuss neighborhood revitalization, urban place making and how new neighborhoods emerge with Carlos Rosso and Avra Jain. Larry Zinn shares what it’s like to drive a Lamborghini, and we talk new trends in commercial real estate financing for 2016 with Alex Horn.

Neighborhood Revitalization

Carlos Rosso is President of the Condominium Development Division at Related Group. Since joining Related in 2002, Carlos Rosso has been responsible for a broad range of activities. As President of the Condominium Division, he has directed all aspects of residential development both in various properties in Florida and internationally in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay. Throughout his career Rosso has developed more than 16,000 units, bringing his depth of experience in construction, project financing, land acquisition and sales and marketing.

Avra Jain is a real estate businessperson and placemaker. Jain has earned a reputation for identifying the next “it” neighborhood. Her vision, and ability to attract investors, has resulted in 26 boutique projects that range from converting a 100,000 square foot warehouse to luxury loft condominiums in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood to the remake of The Vagabond from decrepit motel to quaint hotel on Miami’s Biscayne Boulevard.

We discuss neighborhood revitalization, urban place making and how neighborhoods emerge.

Driving a Lamborghini

Larry Zinn of Warren Henry Land Rover, Range Rover, Infiniti and Jaguar discusses the new Land Rover Discovery Sport and Infiniti Q50. We will also talk about his new Lamborghini store with store manager Abe Cohen.

We discuss what driving a Lamborghini is really like.

Real Estate Financing for 2016

Alex Horn is Managing Partner at BridgeInvest, a Miami-based lender focused on short-term or “bridge” financing for commercial real estate. The firm specializes in creative financing solutions for borrowers whose projects do not meet traditional lending standards or who simply need to act quickly.

We discuss what new trends he sees in commercial real estate financing for 2016.

UF Real Estate Update

Jim attended the Annual UF Trends and Strategies Conference last week

He will tell you what he learned at the conference and he will speak with one of the Program's students:

Emme Benoit about why she choose the UF MSRE program and what she is learning.

About Our Guests:

Emme Gisele-Louise Benoit

Emme graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Supply Chain Management, but deep down, always knew real estate was the path she was meant to take. So, she followed her heart and pursued that passion. Now, she is a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) student at the University of Florida, a journey that was largely inspired by her father's successful career as a commercial real estate developer.
Emme’s fascination with real estate isn't just about the industry itself; it's about the impact it has on communities and landscapes. She loves seeing how built spaces come to life, transforming areas and changing the skyline. It's about bringing a vision to reality and witnessing the profound changes that follow. This passion drives her every day and fuels her dedication to the field.
Currently, she serve as the Co-President of the UF Women's Real Estate Society and as an MSRE ambassador. These roles have given her the incredible opportunity to lead, inspire, and connect with like-minded individuals who are as passionate about real estate as she is. Through these positions, she aims to empower women in the industry, foster a supportive community, and advocate for sustainable and innovative practices in real estate.
Emme’s journey in real estate is a testament to following one's passion and making a tangible impact on the world. She is committed to learning, growing, and contributing to the industry in meaningful ways, and she is excited to see where this path will take her.
