Michael Kosnitzky – a practicing attorney who heads up the tax and middle market practice group at Boies, Schiller & Flexner, LLP. He is resident in both the firm’s New York City and Miami offices. He has represented many health care clients over the years including gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott’s company, Columbia Hospital Corporation. He served on the board of trustees of the Public Health Trust which operates the UM/Jackson Memorial Health System which includes Jackson Memorial Hospital, one of the largest public hospitals in the United States, from 1997 – 2004 and was Chairman of UM/Jackson from 2002 – 2003. He is widely credited with making the Public Health Trust and our public hospital system more transparent in its operations , including its operations with the University of Miami Medical School and the use of the half-penny sales tax.
