John Crossman, and the company that bears his name, have become hugely influential in Florida retail real estate.
They’re well known as a shopping center leasing rep for Publix Super Markets, and they do leasing for all other retail property types as well. They operate in seven states in the Southeast and now have 20 million square feet under management.
Of the 75 Publix-anchored shopping center in Miami-Dade County, Crossman controls 26 of them.
I remember first meeting John and his brother, Scott, in the early 1990s during the RTC days when my company was trying to buy some retail strip centers in Orlando. They were industry leaders then, and they continue to be industry leaders now some 25 years later.
In fact, Crossman & Company is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. John came on the air with me during the 2015 CCIM Commercial Real Estate Outlook Conference in Miami to mark the occasion. He bowled me over by presenting me with a pure silver coin with the Crossman & Company logo – specially minted to mark the year-long celebration.
Now, that’s class! But then again, we’ve come to expect this kind of generosity from Crossman & Company – the latest example of which is their new retail real estate report covering six Southeastern states.
More than 30 contributors made the report possible, and you can download it for free from http://www.crossmanco.com/.
