Vivian Fried Kidney Transplant Fund now online

Don Weidenfeld, Managing Member of Magnum Energy Solutions, is far more than a frequent guest and sponsor of the Fried On Business show. He was my roommate after college and has been a faithful friend throughout the years.

And now he’s come through once again as a principal sponsor of the Vivian Fried Kidney Transplant Fund.

For those who don’t know already, we’ve had a few setbacks in my wife Vivian’s quest to find a kidney donor. Our first donor had to bow out due to family issues. We found our second donor about six months ago, and she tested as a perfect match.

However, we found out recently that she didn’t fit the protocol at UHealth in Miami. We’ve taken her to the University of Florida, and we think we may have success there, but she’s had a health problem that’s slowing things down.

Also, Vivian is starting to have her own problems. Blood pressure is becoming an issue, and she is going to dialysis daily.

Time is of the essence, so we’re also moving ahead with an appointment at Johns Hopkins. The catch here is that it’s out-of-network for our health insurance, so we’ll have to foot a lot of the bill.

You can imagine what it might cost to pay for something like this, so we’re trying to raise $500,000 to cover everything.

If we don’t reach that goal, we’ll do the best we can. If we only use a portion of what we raise, we’ll donate it to indigent kidney transplant patients.

So, please, join the list of beautiful people who have expressed their love for Vivian and me by helping us prepare financially for what might lie ahead.

You can donate to Vivian’s kidney transplant fund by clicking here: http://bit.ly/Donate2Vivian. To become a member of the Vivian Fried Fundraising Team, click here: http://bit.ly/BeAVIVIANFundraiser.

We could still use more options, so if anyone is willing to have themselves tested as a potential kidney donor for my Vivian, please contact me at jim@friedonbusiness.com.

Help me save the life of the love of my life.

Once again, I cannot thank enough the crew at Magnum Energy Solutions for their help. It’s a symbol of the values system at this outstanding company.

Episode 758 | 03.06.24

UF Real Estate Update

Jim attended the Annual UF Trends and Strategies Conference last week

He will tell you what he learned at the conference and he will speak with one of the Program's students:

Emme Benoit about why she choose the UF MSRE program and what she is learning.

*************************************

About Our Guests:

Emme Gisele-Louise Benoit

Emme graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Supply Chain Management, but deep down, always knew real estate was the path she was meant to take. So, she followed her heart and pursued that passion. Now, she is a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) student at the University of Florida, a journey that was largely inspired by her father's successful career as a commercial real estate developer.
Emme’s fascination with real estate isn't just about the industry itself; it's about the impact it has on communities and landscapes. She loves seeing how built spaces come to life, transforming areas and changing the skyline. It's about bringing a vision to reality and witnessing the profound changes that follow. This passion drives her every day and fuels her dedication to the field.
Currently, she serve as the Co-President of the UF Women's Real Estate Society and as an MSRE ambassador. These roles have given her the incredible opportunity to lead, inspire, and connect with like-minded individuals who are as passionate about real estate as she is. Through these positions, she aims to empower women in the industry, foster a supportive community, and advocate for sustainable and innovative practices in real estate.
Emme’s journey in real estate is a testament to following one's passion and making a tangible impact on the world. She is committed to learning, growing, and contributing to the industry in meaningful ways, and she is excited to see where this path will take her.
