Terek’s water rescue deserves big #TY

SHARE

The word “hero” get tossed around a lot these days, but I know someone who really deserves the title. It’s Terek Maddox – NFL trainer and frequent guest on Fried On Business.

Terek has been diligently working to get me into shape after my recent back surgery. I’m getting stronger, and my limp is finally starting to go away.

Our Saturday workout is usually an hour at the gym in my apartment building, followed by some aquatic therapy at the pool.

Recently, we had just wrapped things up and headed down to the water when we ran into a large group of kids gathered poolside for a party.

Out of nowhere a toddler, no more than 18 months old, flys past and belly flops into the water. Turns out, however, that he can’t swim. His older sister jumps in to save him, and she starts sinking too.

Now, my back is better, but it’s not that much better. I’m not in a position to help. No one else is helping, either. They’re freaking out, but that’s all. So I start yelling for Terek.

He zooms past, dives into the pool, and gets both safely to the side.

Terek saved the day, but in all of the mayhem one thing got missed. No one ever said thank you.

So that’s what I’m doing now. I’m saying a big THANK YOU to Terek Maddox for taking action when one else would. Thank you for being one of the highest-quality people I have ever met.

You can follow Terek Maddox on Twitter @terekmaddox and on LinkedIn at http://www.linkedin.com/in/terekmaddox. Or just give him a call at 786-278-5584.

About Our Guests:

Emme Gisele-Louise Benoit

Emme graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Supply Chain Management, but deep down, always knew real estate was the path she was meant to take. So, she followed her heart and pursued that passion. Now, she is a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) student at the University of Florida, a journey that was largely inspired by her father's successful career as a commercial real estate developer.
Emme’s fascination with real estate isn't just about the industry itself; it's about the impact it has on communities and landscapes. She loves seeing how built spaces come to life, transforming areas and changing the skyline. It's about bringing a vision to reality and witnessing the profound changes that follow. This passion drives her every day and fuels her dedication to the field.
Currently, she serve as the Co-President of the UF Women's Real Estate Society and as an MSRE ambassador. These roles have given her the incredible opportunity to lead, inspire, and connect with like-minded individuals who are as passionate about real estate as she is. Through these positions, she aims to empower women in the industry, foster a supportive community, and advocate for sustainable and innovative practices in real estate.
Emme’s journey in real estate is a testament to following one's passion and making a tangible impact on the world. She is committed to learning, growing, and contributing to the industry in meaningful ways, and she is excited to see where this path will take her.
