My thanks to you – one and all

SHARE

‘Tis the season. The holidays are upon us, and it’s about a lot more than decorations and crowded stores. It’s a time to reflect and give thanks for the people who make life worth living.

So, let me take a few moments to do just that.

First, there’s a young man named Jason who works with me. He came to work with our firm a few years ago, and he’s surpassed my highest expectations. I look forward to working with him for a long, long time to come.

Then, there are the people who help me build my brand:

– Bruce Turkel, a friend and regular guest, and his workmate Alex de Carvalho, a professor at Florida International University.

– Robert Pitts, our webmaster, one of the most dependable people I’ve ever met.

– Sandi Abbott of Xpresso Content Café, who is an enormous help with my marketing.

– John Mahoney of SocialMedia305, who manages my social media content and taught me the language of Twitter.

– Wanda, a new addition to the team and an outstanding audio engineer at AM 880 The Biz.

– Mike Castillo, director of sales, and Larry Mann, operations manager, and the rest of the staff at the station.

Next, the people who I consider to be the bedrock of the show – the folks at UHealth who provide both financial support and fascinating content. Maggie Hernandez, Pascal Goldschmidt, Ashwin Mehta, JoAnne Leahy and more.

And I can’t forget my mentor, Ezra Katz. He believed in me and has personally helped me to build my business in the economic recovery. I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart.

Oh, and I have to mention my thanks to the players who make things happen at the Heat and the Marlins, especially Giancarlo Stanton, Jeffrey Loria, David Samson, Mike Hill. Boris and “Big O” at the Marlins work with us in our marketing, and Sean Flynn helped us get them on board as sponsors.

Mike Schear, a friend in Chicago, gave me the idea to get into the family office aspect of my business.

Don Widenfeld, my former college roommate and president of Magnum Energy Solutions, stepped in big to help sponsor our Miami Heat tickets. I want to thank him for his steadfast, unconditional friendship.

My friends at Warren Henry Auto Group – Larry, Ismet, Peter and more – not only keep my car running but help to keep the show running, too. As do our sponsors South Florida Business and Wealth Magazine, Shelly Bloom, Publix, Aztec Group and the Miami Dolphins.

Ron and Lauren Book are single-handedly changing the world every single day by spreading the word about child sexual abuse and helping to stop it.

The CCIM Miami chapter, a recent sponsor, is going to give us invaluable insight on the real estate markets going forward. Thank you Steve, Paul, Danny, Frank and Sandra.

Terek Maddox keeps me fit for life physically and mentally. He’s a sensei to me, and I can’t thank him enough.

Speaking of sensei’s, the folks at the University of Florida Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies – Tim Becker, Todd Jones, Paul Ellis, Edgar Jones, John Crossman, Jim Stine, Casey Cummings and more – are my fraternity. I can call them anytime to make sure I’m heading in the right direction.

Lolly Green, MSW, is my mother and is my source of life, love and constant support. Thanks, Mom! And thanks to the rest of my family for always being there.

Finally, I want to thank the love of my life, my wife Vivian. Every single day you show me what strength is all about and how important it is to live every day with hope and courage and positive energy. Your outlook on life is what helps keep me going. Without your support and unconditional love, I just couldn’t do it.

This radio show is a reflection of my life. God bless you all for making it so wonderful.

UF Real Estate Update

Jim attended the Annual UF Trends and Strategies Conference last week

He will tell you what he learned at the conference and he will speak with one of the Program's students:

Emme Benoit about why she choose the UF MSRE program and what she is learning.

About Our Guests:

Emme Gisele-Louise Benoit

Emme graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Supply Chain Management, but deep down, always knew real estate was the path she was meant to take. So, she followed her heart and pursued that passion. Now, she is a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) student at the University of Florida, a journey that was largely inspired by her father's successful career as a commercial real estate developer.
Emme’s fascination with real estate isn't just about the industry itself; it's about the impact it has on communities and landscapes. She loves seeing how built spaces come to life, transforming areas and changing the skyline. It's about bringing a vision to reality and witnessing the profound changes that follow. This passion drives her every day and fuels her dedication to the field.
Currently, she serve as the Co-President of the UF Women's Real Estate Society and as an MSRE ambassador. These roles have given her the incredible opportunity to lead, inspire, and connect with like-minded individuals who are as passionate about real estate as she is. Through these positions, she aims to empower women in the industry, foster a supportive community, and advocate for sustainable and innovative practices in real estate.
Emme’s journey in real estate is a testament to following one's passion and making a tangible impact on the world. She is committed to learning, growing, and contributing to the industry in meaningful ways, and she is excited to see where this path will take her.
